Initiative Description:
Bexar County is launching a new program to foster local economic development talent. The Economic Development Leadership Program (EDLP) targets undergraduate and graduate students for a unique mentored experience in applied and innovative economic development learning.
Program:
- The EDLP provides students with either a Fall Semeser, or Fall-Spring internship.
- The EDLP seeks to bring together the academic community, business community, economic development practitioners, and policy makers to create and share innovative solutions for Bexar County’s economic future.
- While specific activities and responsibilities will depend upon the length of the student’s respective internship period commitment, participating interns may be exposed to applied research and business intelligence methodologies, specific marketing and branding applications, industry specific knowledge, strategic relationship building, regional economic development initiatives (www.txmxautomotive.com) and unique site visit opportunities. (For more program information, please see the EDLP brochure linked to below.)
